Review of Keyword Elite - Part II
Overall the software functionality is very good and I am happy with most of the features. It's well worth the money and saves me a lot of time. But - there are a few things I am not happy about and I think a buyer should know about it before making the purchase. The Keyword Elite homepage states that you can create lists of over 10000 keywords in less than 3 minutes. I doubt that. The tool runs very slow for me on a Dell D820 Latitude Laptop (2 GB RAM / Dual Core CPU / 7200 RPM hard drive). A large project looking for thousands of keywords runs at least 30 minutes to an hour. I usually kick off a search and let it go in the background while I work on other things. It still saves me a lot of time.
Another thing I would like to see improved is the filter technology. On the first view it looks like filter is powerful to clean up the search results, but I think there should be more functionality as it is still a cumbersome process. Microsoft's Excel is always my friend when it comes to additional filtering. The main thing I am missing is to sort the columns like you can do in Excel from A to Z / Z to A not just for the keywords, but also for the source of the keywords. Yes, you can do this with selecting tabs, but it takes away other functionality that you want in that moment. I would also like to see a feature to remove single words and not just phrases with more than "x" words in them. Usually single keywords (one word) are less targeted and often more expensive to promote. If I could filter those out upfront ....! For Google Adwords I also want to create lists of keywords in brackets or quotation marks. The software can do this, but it dumps it all together and is difficult to separate later on.
One thing I am cautious with is the upload functionality into Google Adwords. While the functionality is nice, I am hesitating to use it as I have heard about Google not liking 3rd party tools messing around in their systems. For uploading keywords and creating campaigns and ads, I use the Google own application "Adwords Editor". The application is written by Google and is approved. I do not like to get banned or into problems with Google about a small thing like that. So, I ignore this functionality in Keyword Elite.
Conclusion: I am using Keyword Elite now for about 2 weeks (I think) and really like it. Besides some negative stuff that I mentioned the software saves me a lot of time. While the software runs in the background I can build websites or fine-tune Adwords PPC campaigns that I setup at a different time. I was lucky finding a discount link to buy the software through Clickbank. The normal price for Keyword Elite of $167.00 seems to be steep for a beginner, but I think if you put a value onto your time you should be able to save money fairly quick. Like I said, I work on other stuff while Keyword Elite builds my keyword lists. That for sure has increased my productivity and output significantly. I usually set a limit of my expenses for software or books and would have bought this software for $167.00 - maybe not now, but at one point for sure. Now that I know that it saves me time and money, I think I should have bought it sooner.
I mentioned the affiliate link / review scheme before. I am not opposed to recommend a product and to put an affiliate link in place for visitors to use it for their purchase. Here is a link to Keyword Elite and it is an affiliate link. If you like this review and consider to buy Keyword Elite, please use this link as a small return favor. If you do not want to use the affiliate link - just manually type the URL www.keywordelite.com into your browser window.
